Stephen Daytime makes audiences uncomfortable in the best possible way.

He has a diplôme from École Philippe Gaulier and graduated in 2025 from the DESS Marionnettes Contemporaines at UQAM. He is an ongoing student of Italian theatre and clown pedagogue Giovanni Fusetti, who teaches Lecoq-style pedagogy with a somatic and Gestalt approach.

Somatic work has been a part of Steve’s practice since long before he knew it to be called that: in 2017 he co-founded Danser Dans L’Noir, a fortnightly free-dance in total darkness, which he runs permanently with a small team.

He recently presented Bêtes Parfaites, a modern bouffon show, at La Porte Rouge, with an upcoming residency at the Northampton Centre for the Arts, Mass, USA. His piece “Amoeba” was featured in the Montreal Clown Festival Gala 2025, and the Labrador Creative Arts Festival in 2024.
He organizes clown (Peter Sweet) and mask (Sara Corsini) workshops in Montréal under the name Clown + Etc Montréal.
He is currently reworking his solo play Wild Bill's Facebook Livefeed Feeding-Time Youtube Yeeehaw!! and preparing his solo 50 minute bouffon show Minotaur for fringes. He and was thrice a teaching artist at the Labrador Creative Arts Festival.

As a teacher he specializes in creating spaces where a wide range of participants, from highly energetic to reserved, can access play, confidence and expression through the body.

He has been hard of hearing since birth and now proudly wears Phonak Audeo M90-Rs, which he may let you try if you politely ask. He also works as an assistant to disabled people and as an assistant mechanic on very big ships.
